Team – Leadership

Charles Rolls
Chairman
Charles’ has 25 years in the drinks industry. He co-founded Fever-Tree in 2003 and ran the company until its float in 2014. The premiumisation of mixed drinks that has resulted has benefitted consumers around the world.
Before that, he was at the forefront of the renaissance of premium gin with the turnaround of Plymouth Gin in the late 1990s. Gin in the western world has doubled in size and tripled in value since then, undoubtedly helped along by the availability of premium tonic.
Fino wines have been a long-standing passion.
Teaming up with an inspired group, he believes it is now time to re-awaken consumer’s interest in the uniquely different tastes of wines developed under flor.

Raul Moreno
Head Winemaker
Raul, a globetrotting individual from Andalusia who has a deep passion for food, wine, and spirits. In 1999, he transitioned into the wine industry while still working as a commis chef in London.
Raul has work experience on all continents, but he found his true calling as a viticulturist and winemaker in Australia.
Raul humorously mentions that he learned to farm healthy organic grapes in South Africa, how to make great wine from outstanding grapes in France, but also how to make very good wine from average grapes in Australia.
He has a particular fondness for fortified wines such as Madeira, VDN, Port, and Sherry.
Raul is not only passionate about wine but also deeply in love with his wife and children. Currently, he serves as the director of Enology for Sotovelo, where he collaborates closely with Miguel Rosado in various aspects of viticulture, farming, and winemaking.
A passionate and accomplished young winemaker hailing from Portugal, Miguel began his career in France, where he graduated in enology and viticulture.
His journey started in Montpellier, where he honed his skills and acquired invaluable knowledge in winemaking and viticulture practices.
Eager to explore the world of winemaking, he embarked on harvest season in various renowned regions, including Cahors and Champagne (France), Barolo (Italy), Casablanca (Chile), Mendoza (Argentina), and his beloved Dão in Portugal.
Today, Miguel is involved in every step of the winemaking process of SOTOVELO, from the vineyard to the bottle.
